The Trouble Twins Pose for Photos

Posted on August 16, 2013 by BrassyDel

We were playing outside the other day when the kids noticed my camera. “Oh, take a picture of us!” they cried. Or Pixie did. Chappy will go with the flow, but Pixie is obsessed with cameras and taking photos. I really want to get her this drop-proof kiddie camera, but it’s sixty bucks. Not exactly an “on a whim” purchase!…

The Many Faces of Cholma, Part II

Posted on August 15, 2013 by BrassyDel

More Cholma! Aren’t you excited? Actually, I know I have at least a few Cholma fans (who don’t happen to also be Cholma). Is Cho your favoritest favorite? You can tell me! It’ll just be between you, me, and the comments section. So spill, darlings.

The Many Faces of Cholma, Part 1

I did a series of avatar commissions for Cholma, of Storytime fame, and I’d like to share them with you. They were fun! Here is the first four:

Let’s Buy Books

Posted on August 12, 2013 by BrassyDel

I’ve been hearing that bookstores are all going out of business because of online book-buying, either as eBooks or cheaper physical books from Amazon. Well, we had family in town recently and they needed some books for the kids. They were in the middle of a cross-country road trip, so we went to the brick-and-mortar store. Excited to influence my…

Mommy’s Little Bloggy Hobby

Posted on August 8, 2013 by BrassyDel

Sometimes I just draw pictures for you guys, and sometimes I write weird little posts. I worry that I should just stick to the pretty pictures, but I keep toying with the whole “Mommy Blog” thing because I actually enjoy reading that kind of blog. I like crafty stuff, DIY stuff, housekeeping tips, kid activities, and especially funny parenting articles…

Katii is Concerned

Posted on August 5, 2013 by BrassyDel

This is on the first page of my latest sketchbook. It’s a tiny one, but I’m halfway through it and only just got around to coloring and posting this. I inked with microns and colored with Copics. If you are not familiar with my old webcomic, gone into the internet ether as it is, this is Katii. She’s got… baggage….

Amanda, Hmph!

Amanda is Displeased

Posted on August 2, 2013 by BrassyDel

Amanda is not amused with something. Probably you. Well, if you is Biiku, anyway. Those two just never could seem to get along. Then again, maybe she’s disappointed that I just roughed out a sketch instead of taking my loving time making her look perfect. It’s the cankles, isn’t it? Sorry, Amanda. My bad.

Date With A Vampire

Posted on August 1, 2013 by BrassyDel

I’d barely walked into the bar when I noticed her. It was hard not to. Her skin was the color of cheap sea shells, pale and extravagantly white, with a wash of blue undertones. Her hair thick, wildly curly, with a shocking mix of white, grey, and purple streaks. The big hair was a striking contrast to her tiny frame….

Work in Progress: Vampire Girl

Posted on July 31, 2013 by BrassyDel

Another sketch influenced by my voracious consumption of YA paranormal lit, a bony little vampire chick. I usually like my girls with a little more meat on the bone, but there’s plenty room for every body type ’round here. Similar to the werewolf chick, Vampy here doesn’t have a name yet. Or even a story, actually. She’s definitely inspired by…

Miss Werewolf, sketch

Miss Werewolf, Work in Progress

Posted on July 30, 2013 by BrassyDel

Line-art of a spunky werewolf chick, because I read a lot of YA paranormal books. I have an idea percolating about Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf… Little Red is a voluptuous, street-smart young woman, and the big bad wolf is her werewolf boyfriend. Or girlfriend. I haven’t decided pretty much anything.
