Wait, You Can GROW Food?!

By BrassyDel

Here come peas!

This is not my garden.

I thought you could only get food at the store.

You mean I can grow my own food? In the dirt?

I dunno.

Is it as good as the food at the clean, brightly lit, pristine grocery store? Isn’t that food better?

Oh. It’s not?

Well, okay then.

If you can’t tell, I’m finally making an initial foray into gardening. I’ve been meaning to for years, but it’s not something I grew up with so it’s a little… foreign. Possibly even a little anti-consumerism, which I kind of like. Taking control over a small amount of what we eat. I’m not sure how cost effective it is, since you have to pay for the water and all, but I’m not too worried about that part. Even if I don’t save much, it’s been fun and I don’t even have sprouts yet! Working out in the yard is really rewarding and helps me feel healthier and more balanced.

I love it.

I’ll take some pictures of my actual garden space when there’s something besides tilled dirt to show you guys. For now… cheers!
