Amanda and Kieran, Tomodachi Forever

Sketches: Amanda and Kieran

Posted on November 11, 2013 by BrassyDel

This one is Amanda and Kieran. I think I already showed you guys Kieran’s new look, at least I did on Twitter already. So if you didn’t see it yet… here it is! Tada! Amanda hasn’t changed a whole lot visually. Her face is a little rounder and more pixie-like, and that’s about it. Still lots of curly blonde hair…

Sketch Roundup This Week!

Posted on November 10, 2013 by BrassyDel

I’ve been posting a lot of sketches on Twitter later, and I know that for some of you it’s really hard to see the images there because you read on your phone, and then it’s gone into the ether. Or you are a Luddite and hate Twitter.  So if you follow me on Twitter, you’re still going to see sketches…

Amanda Makes the Teen Face [Tomodachi Forever]

Posted on October 31, 2013 by BrassyDel

Scripting the new Tomodachi Forever has been going really well, but I noticed that having a bunch of teenagers (17-21) means they make a LOT of this face. There’s also a lot of texting, but it took me about 120 pages to get to someone taking a selfie, so oops. That’s probably not so accurate. If you’re following along on…

Kevin Final Colors [Tomodachi Forever]

Posted on October 23, 2013 by BrassyDel

I’ve been playing with faster coloring methods, like the white and dark red opacity method, but… I don’t like it as much. Yes, it is good enough and it is sure as heck faster. But I really, really like picking just the right colors for shading, especially with hair. And I’m happiest with hair when it’s got 5 different colors…

Kevin: Flat Colors! [Tomodachi Forever]

Posted on October 21, 2013 by BrassyDel

I cleaned up the sketch of Kevin and laid down some flat colors. I had my extensive color palette from when I did the first draft of Tomo a decade ago, but I didn’t like the colors. The blonde for his hair was particularly off.

Kevin Sketch [Tomodachi Forever]

Posted on October 16, 2013 by BrassyDel

I’ve been working on re-writing my old webcomic, Tomodachi Forever, and that also means I need to work on art updates. Here’s a sketch of Kevin that I’m extremely happy with this, so this is it! This is what Kevin looks like now. I did notice that as I’m writing, he and Kiran have sort of swapped personalities. Kevin’s less…

Cholma, Now with More Cape!

Posted on October 14, 2013 by BrassyDel

Because I drew the lineart for this Cholma piece on bristol board, I ran out of space to really fit the cape in. I barely got the top hand in! So the cape was added after in Photoshop. It took a couple tries to get a shape I really liked, but now I’m super happy with how it turned out….

Evil Cholma, Part II

Posted on October 9, 2013 by BrassyDel

It’s a bit easier to tell our two Cholmas apart, now that they’re in color. Green versus red… the weirdest Christmas special ever? Or just THE BEST?

Evil Cholma, Because OF COURSE

Posted on October 7, 2013 by BrassyDel

Don’t be fooled! This dashing and dastardly gentleman is actually eCho, or Evil Cholma. Created in a secret lab from stolen hero DNA, Evil Cholma is similar to the man destined to be his nemesis. But what I really want to know is how does he keep his hair looking so good in the heat of battle?! A girl’s gotta…

Cholma, All Colored Up

Posted on October 4, 2013 by BrassyDel

It’s done! Cholma in all his technicolor glory. The lineart (ink only) appeared on Monday, then we had flat colors on Wednesday, and now I’m finishing the progressive mini-series today.
