Kissy Face

Posted on December 14, 2012 by BrassyDel

This is an old piece, but I don’t think it’s shown up on the blog before. I drew this back in high school so it’s maybe 14 years old? I don’t really draw stuff like this anymore, but I kind of miss it. Pointillism is very cathartic for me, but it’s kind of a zen activity and I don’t have…

Braids

Posted on August 22, 2012 by BrassyDel

Some expressions, and a Ranma-style braid because it was one of my favorite comics back in middle school. That and Sonic the Hedgehog. Yes, I do have excellent taste, thank you. We lived in a suburb on the outskirts of Houston back then, and I remember there being a little comic shop right outside the neighborhood. I didn’t exactly have…

Sweetheart – Illustrated #Polyvore Set

Posted on March 30, 2011 by BrassyDel

Today’s pic is an illustrated model for a Polyvore fashion set I did up. I first heard about Polyvore through a post by The Pioneer Woman, and it is an addictive little site! I’m no expert fashionista, but it’s still fun to put together outfits. Maybe it’s like paper dolls for grown ups? Except these paper dolls don’t have a…

Sneaky Filadelfo Illos

Posted on February 1, 2011 by BrassyDel

I drew a new illustration for last week’s installment of Cholma’s story: Isla Muerte: The Art Commission. This is Filadelfo, staking out the area outside Mr. Wallace’s abode. I’ve also added the illustration to the original post, but wanted to add it to the sketch blog too so everyone would know it was actually there.

Acrylic Painting

The Trumpeter

Posted on January 13, 2011 by BrassyDel

This original acrylic painting is approximately 13″x16″ on canvas paper. It’s been hanging out, completed, in storage for a little too long, so I’ve put it up for sale. Maybe it’ll find a good, loving home, where it can adorn a wall instead of being wrapped up in perpetuity. Maybe that’s YOUR home, even? If you think it just might…

Beach Bum Bikinis

Weather.com suggests that today is going to be the last warm-ish day here for awhile (high of 74 Farenheit predicted), so enjoy some bikini art.

Freckles

Posted on October 14, 2010 by BrassyDel

More sort-of-life-drawing. Some advert with a photo of a kid in her soccer uniform. I really liked the hair. I don’t even remember which magazine it was in (something my sister had left at our mom’s house), and it doesn’t really matter that much since my drawings don’t really look like the photos anyway.

Some Office Lady

Posted on October 13, 2010 by BrassyDel

Here I was playing around with some hatching and pointilism techniques, which I used to be pretty good at but am now way out of practice on. Terribly, horrifically, unfortunately out of practice on. She looks a little cheeky. She’s drawn from some ad in a magazine, though the model in the photo was certainly not so cheeky.
