One of the games Pixie asks to watch is Donkey Kong Country Returns. The kid loves monkeys and they always get her chattering. You play as Donkey Kong, who I believe is actually a great ape, and you can find his simian sidekick Diddy Kong (perhaps he’s adopted?) in barrels throughout each level. Your hit counter goes from 2 hearts max to 4, but if you drop down to 2 hearts you’ll lose Diddy. He cries out and falls off the screen, magically teleported to the next available barrel, and Pixie will then tell you ad nauseum “Gotta find the baby monkey!” until you find another Diddy Kong barrel. She gets increasingly demanding the longer it takes, adorably concerned for Diddy’s well-being. Or maybe she’s just impatient when mom sucks at video games.
