Apparently, it is now Autumn. And almost October. Just yesterday? The middle of August. I have no idea where those last few weeks went.
Somewhere in there, Chappy got bigger. Heck, even Pixie has grown a little (no, I’m sure she has! Maybe?). Chappy started crawling, then proceeded swiftly to sitting up by himself, and then instantly to pulling himself up onto furniture in a standing position (that he just as swiftly falls backwards from, usually onto toys or something else I’m frantically trying to get out of the way). Pixie became obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse*, picked up several new words (and none of them bad!), had her ear tags surgically removed, had about a zillion tests (diagnosis: baby is short; your bill is in the mail), and discovered that baby brothers are kind of annoying and are ALL OVER HER TOYS, MOM.
There was also a lot of boring adult drama about jobs and money and groceries and eating too much pizza, and fortunately that all seems to have settled down again (even, possibly, the pizza consumption). Just in time for the first round of fall-winter colds, which struck the Hubbles with a vengeance and struck myself and the kids with a kind of just really pissed at you for that thing you did but not exactly plotting revenge.
For awhile, the kids even napped at the same time, and it was glorious. It was also only, like, a day.
Bygones.
I’ve even done some drawing, but mostly it’s been ponies. I’ve also washed an astronomical number of dishes and I think we’ll all just start eating directly from the pans on the stove.
