Blast from the past, looking forward to summer!
This was Pixie’s first time “swimming,” and by swimming I really mean “playing in a swimsuit in a plastic tub of water in the backyard”. Regardless, she loved it. This picture kind of kills me now, because she’s pretty much still a baby here. Now she’s my toddler, and becoming a Big Girl.
It’s even worse when I pull up her newborn photos. It totally makes my ovaries ache, as I’m sure the mommas reading along can relate to. Why can’t they be little forever? I know the next stages are all good too, but man. Rocking or snuggling your sleepy newborn is like bliss, aided by all kinds of biochemical stuff going on in your brain and the rest of your body. So even though I know we can still have those moments as our babies age, it’s hard to say goodbye to that stage.
Babies are fun, but grandbabies are more fun, with none of the work. Empty Nesterhood is pretty awesome, too.
