I’m a big fan of lolcats and loldogs, being a bit of a nerd. One of today’s grammatically-impaired, constitutively-adorable pooches is thus:
I think the girl on the left might actually be fiddling with a camera, as opposed to texting, but the message is wonderful regardless. Many of us, in the US at least, do spend a lot of time not living in the moment. I love my dogs, and one of the things they have really taught me is about living in now. I don’t think they really experience much that is “before” or “after” – something is now, or something is not now.
While we can’t live that way every moment of our lives (the dog doesn’t have to pay a mortgage), it’s important to live that way sometimes. Put the phone down. Put the camera down. Get off the computer. Go spend some time with your family, your friends, your pets, or out in your community. And just be for a while.
What are you waiting for? Go! Get out there!
Heretic! This "life" off the computer you speak of is a myth; a horror story told by parents to their children to keep them in line. How dare you spread such lies!
