I was playing around with the pen tool in Photoshop and came up with this robot. I would consider him sort of a prototype, I guess, because I’m not happy with him. I wanted something cute, kid-friendly, and robot-y. By kid-friendly I mean something that a child, say between the ages of three and ten, might actually think was pretty rockin’. Not the too-kitsch kind of “kid” art that you find plastered all over elementary school classroom that is really more appropriate for some parents’s interest level, not the child’s.
Any feedback on this dude would be greatly appreciated. What parts do you like (if any)? What parts do you hate? What would make him cool? Feel free to post some inspiration too (images you like, and what you liked about them). Obviously I don’t want to just mimic something else, but art isn’t created in a vacuum either.
