One piece of advice you find when researching training your dog is to absolutely, positively, never let the dog sleep on the bed. And for good reason:
- dogs associate sleeping space with pack hierarchy
- dogs can develop guarding behaviors with your bed
- sharing the bed with Fido can negatively impact your romantic relationship
- when Fido weighs almost 80 pounds (and you have two of them) you begin to realize just how small a queen-sized mattress is
- if your dog is a stink-butt you might discover odd, yellowed crusty spots on the white parts of your comforter
There is, of course, some compelling research for letting the canines cuddle up with you to sleep:
- holy crap, isn’t he freaking cute?

Obviously, our choice here is clear, and I’m afraid of what will happen when Baby Brassy arrives in three months. Daddy suggests it’s really time for a new bed anyways…
